A Wilderness of Error: The Trials of Jeffrey MacDonald

We start with another vampire:

Born 1883 to an impoverished an abusive household, serial Killer Peter Kurten began his murdering career at 30 years of age. He was born in Germany, the oldest of 13 children, his father was a terrible alcoholic who brutalized both his wife and children. As a way of escaping the family, Kurten at 9 befriended a dog catcher in the building who introduced him to bestiality which would progress to him stabbing the animals as he had sex with them.

When he reached the age of 16 he started committing petty crimes and running away from home to escape the violence, however, the conditions within the prison only instigated his sadistic tendencies.

Kurten’s brutality and murders ways are spanned years and were no doubt horrendous, the man was an absolute sadist and there is no possible way to do a quick synopsis of all he did. In the end he stated that his primary motive for committing any form of crime was one of sexual pleasure.

In 1931 Kurten was executed by guillotine, his head after being removed was mummified and the brain was removed and subjected to forensic analysis in an attempt to explain his personality and behavior.

and a 1970s cult murder….maybe….

Fort Bragg, Feb 17, 1970 3:42am an emergency call is recieved from Jeffrey MacDonald stating “Help, five forty-four Castle Drive! Stabbing! Hurry ” the reciever then hits the wall and the floor.

When the military police arrive they find Macdonald’s wife Colette sprawled accross the floor of the master bedroom, she was on her back with one eye open and one breast exposed. She had been clubbed about her body, both forearms broken, she had as well been stabbed 21 times in the chest with an ice pick and 16 times in the neck and chest with a knife. Laying next to her was Jeff Macdonald, he was face down his head on Colette’s chest, one arm around her neck, he was alive.

Their two children, 5 year old Kimberly was found in her bed, bludgeoned about the head and body and stabbed in the neck 8-10 times. Across the hallway, 2 year old Kristen was also in her own bed, she had been stabbed 33 time across the neck, hands, and back with a knife and 15 times with an ice pick.

Across the top of the marital bed was written in blood “Pig” Macdonald who suffered much less severe wounds claimed he woke from sleep on the couch to his wife yelling for help, as he rose he was attacked by three male intruders one black, two white and that there was a female with long blonde hair, and a big floppy hat who was holding a candle saying “Acid is groovy, kill the pigs”

This all happened around the same time as the Manson murders, this story is fantastic as the woman was found and questioned, but did she really have a part in the murder story?? or was she just a troubled woman who went along with what the police want to hear? Was Jeffrey MacDonald the real murderer? In the end will anyone really know? But seriously this story is crazy!
