Further reading on The Moors Murders/The Gorilla Killer
The moors murders were carried out by Myra Hindley and Ian Brady between the years of 1963 and 1965 in Manchester England. Their victims were all children, in total there were five and they fell in the ages of 10 to 17.
Ian was given to a local couple as a young child, as his mother could not afford to care for him, and was known to have tortured animals. Growing up, his behavior only worsened and he threated old girlfriend with knives as well as shop lifting. Its at work that he meets Mayra Hindley, as she starts work as a typist for the company he works at.
Hindley is immediately infatuated with Ian, even after learning about his criminal background, she become so obsessed with him that she starts changing thins about herself to meet his ideals. She dyes her hair and wears clothes that he will find more attractive and becomes subserviently to his wants.
Hindley would later confess that Brady started talking about committing the “perfect murder” together in which they would wear disguises, kidnap a child, take them to the moors, rape and murder them and then bury them. It wasnt long until they started their spree.
They tried to solicit Myra’s brother into helping them with their murder and disposal of bodies, but instead he tells his girlfriend and they call the police. The two are charged and plead not guilty but in the end they are both given life sentences, years later Myra admitted to being involved in all 5 murder cases.
And then just another good old American, serial killer, rapist and necrophile
Earle Leonard Nelson born in 1897 in San Francisco, CA lost both of his parents early on to syphilis and was sent to live with his maternal grandmother. He suffered from bizarre, manic behavior in his early childhood such as talking to invisible people and compulsively quoting the bible. Add to that a head injury that left him unconscious for six days, only to wake up with frequent headaches, memory loss and even more erratic behavior and you know what we have the makings of.
Because his offenses started when he was so young, so did his time in institutions and prisons but he never had to stay long and was able to commit his crimes all across the US. When he was finally arrested after his murder spree, he was wanted in six US cities. His own wife testified against him stating he was “absolutely insane”
Nelson was found guilty and sentenced to death, he was executed by hanging on January 13, 1928.
