Selena’s Secret: The Revealing Story Behind Her Tragic Death

To Selena, with Love

Info

Selena Perez represented the tip of the spear for the widespread acceptance of Tejano music. At the time of her death, she was already the biggest selling artist of all time in Latin music and was poised to take over American pop charts. On top of it all, she was also a pretty gnarly woman in her community and was regarded as a genuinely good person and a role model for latinas.

Unfortunately, this watershed moment for pop music was cut short when Selena’s path crossed with Yolanda Saldivar. Saldivar was hired to manage Selena’s fashion boutiques and quickly grew close to Selena but her employees constantly complained that the woman was an erratic lunatic. In spite of this, Saldivar climbed the ranks in the Perez organization, eventually landing her in charge of Selena’s fan club. When fans complained that their membership fees had been received but they received nothing in return, the jig was up. Saldivar was confronted and after numerous attempts to stall the discovery that she was quite insane and had been ripping off the organization failed, she turned a pistol on Selena and shot her. The bullet severed an artery and Perez died of blood loss before she even reached the hospital.
