Info
Susan Cabot was a 1950s B-movie actress she starred in many movies throughout her years, her final movie being “The Wasp Woman” she starred as a woman who used a wasp enzymes to slow down the aging process. This however backfired with disastrous results turning her into a killer bug monster craving victims.
Not long after this movie Cabot retired from the business and faded away into the shadows. Living with her only child, 22 year old son Timothy Scott Roman she became a recluse suffering from suicidal thoughts and irrational fears. As time went on she became increasingly unable to care for herself, her house was so littered with trash and food she was considered a hoarder.
Dec 10, 1986 police were called to Cabot’s home where her son informed them someone had broken into the house, knocked him unconscious then attacked an killed his mother. He gave the description of a Latino man with curly hair whom was dressed in ninja garb. He claimed to have fought the ninja, until the man knocked him unconscious.
Unfortunately for Timothy, he lacked any head wounds that could prove this attack his wounds however did seem to be suspiciously self inflicted.
When the police entered Susan’s room they found a bloodbath, she found lying on her bed with blood splatter from floor to ceiling. The killer had covered her face with bed linen before bludgeoning her to death. Her face all but recognizable.
The police suspecting Timothy to be the killer, took him to the station for interrogation. His statements become increasingly inconsistent and soon he admitted his guilt and claimed insanity.
His lawyers told a story of his controlling mother who after losing any sense of fame became increasingly bitter and uncontrollably insane. Timothy who suffered from a form of dwarfism called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease told of how his mother had him on an experimental growth hormone to help his growth.
As with many experimental treatments, there were major side effects, this ones being mad cow disease. Adding to this, Susan Cabot thought this treatment might help her maintain her youth thus mother and son were both injecting themselves with a treatment that was making them insane.
In the end Timothy says his mother in a crazed fit, attacked him with a barbell, when he was able to get the barbell away from her she then came at him with a scalpel and that he killed her out of self defense.
Timothy was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, by the end of the trail he had spent 2.5 years in jail from there he was given 3 years probation.
