Further reading for Molly Bish
As a person who has grown up in New England and from there been obsessed with all things true crime, Molly Bish is a case that has been in my forefront alot and may even be one of my own first murders.
During the summer of 2000, innocent and sweet 16 year old Molly Bish was working as a lifeguard at Commins Pond in Warren Mass. Days before she disappeared as her mother dropped her off she says she saw a mustachioed man in a white car parked near the life guard station. At the time she thought nothing of it, and on the day of Molly’s disappearance she said the car was nowhere in sight. However on the day of her disappearance multiple people reported seeing a man matching the description minutes before Molly was gone.
Magi Bish, Molly’s mother, was the last known person to see her the morning she dropped her off at the start of the day. Hour later however, Magi was contacted by local police telling her that there has been no lifeguard on duty all day and Molly’s belongings were sitting unattended at the station.
A huge and extensive search was launched, it was the largest and most expensive search done in the state of Massachusetts and her case was shown on many popular tv programs but nothing came of the case.
Until the late fall of 2002, when a hunter found a blue bathing suit in the woods on Whiskey Hill in Palmer Mass. He did share this information with anyone until May of 2003 at that point the police were called and an intense search of the area started. Finally June 9th 2003, Molly’s body was found 5 miles away from her home. As of today, Molly’s killer has still not been found.
Boston’s own Giggler, the serial killer
Kenneth Harrison, began his killing spree in Boston in 1967 and it would span 3 years. He procured his moniker of “The Giggler” by police due to a phone call he made after his second murder.
Apparently Harrison, had called the station and said “Listen, there is a body in that big hole next the the Novelty Bar.” When asked who was calling, the person said “This is the Giggler” and then laughed and hung up.
Kenneth Harrison confessed to killing at least four people and in November of 1970 was convicted of first degree murder and given a life sentence. By 1972 he was given three more life sentences for additional murders.
