Early 70’s in Fortworth Texas, Terri Lee Benson Wilder Cooley Johnson Hoffman (holy crap chose a name) had been once adopted and married four times. She would become the leader of Dallas’ most influential metaphysical study group. She had thousands of follower across the nation who bought into her correspondence courses and taught hundreds of people in person. She taught a mix of Easter and Western philosophies with an emphasis on balance and freedom from drugs.

It was said she had a sweet smile, and incredible intuition, that she could see both into the past and the future as well as astral project, speak to the dead, and protect her followers from harm (even from car accidents and cancer.)

However, eight members of her group had died prematurely, three sudden accidents and the other 5 had been suicides (two of whom were Terri’s husbands) all of these people had willed their estates to her, gaining her at least $500,000.

As police investigations started, Terri’s step children filed a lawsuit against her stating she had contributed to all of these deaths through, hypnosis, behavior modification, mind control and emotional manipulation. Ie: Terri was the leader of a cult.

Throughout the large investigating into Terri’s activities, they could not find any direct links between her and the deaths. Terri would go on to file for bankruptcy, which then brought about charges of fraud, alleging that she hid assests, debts, payments and contracts her supports claim all of this was just a way of getting some sort of conviction against her.

In the end Terri was never convicted of any crims and died Oct 31, 2015.

How about a nice Dallas Black Widow.

Sandra Bridwell was a Dallas Society woman, beautiful, alluring, and best of all right. But her husbands kept dying, as well as one of her best friends. It was after her third husband was found murdered that the police became very interested in Sandra.

It was local gossip that brought this negative attention towards Sandra, but other were quick to jump to her defense saying she was just given the short end of the stick in life. The question becomes, is all local gossip that is ruining Sandra’s life or is she a black widow just taking out these guys to get ahead in life?
